Sarah knew she wanted to be a midwife the day she stepped foot in The Birth Center and saw her first birth during nursing school. Midwifery became a calling. A Delaware native, Sarah grew up in southern Delaware and graduated from University of Delaware in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. She then worked as a labor and delivery nurse until graduating from Frontier Nursing University with a Master’s of Science in Nursing and Post Master’s Certificate specializing in Nurse Midwifery and Women’s Health in 2012 and 2013. While completing her midwifery education, she trained in Arizona on the Hopi and Navajo Reservations and a small birth center in Phoenix. This experience strengthened her confidence in normal birth and women’s health, working with a diverse population of women with excellent birth outcomes. She also completed her Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner clinical hours here at The Birth Center. Sarah worked at a birth center in Lancaster County, PA doing birth center, home, and hospital birth as well as full scope GYN care until the birth of her second child in April 2016.
Sarah and her family are very familiar with The Birth Center, having her two sons, Andrew and Kirk, here in February 2014 and April 2016. Her husband, Matthew is also a Birth Center baby. The Beebe family live here in Wilmington and love being outside, visiting the Delaware beaches in the summer, and going to Blue Hen football games in the fall. Working at The Birth Center, “is my dream job! I love that I get to share such a special moment with some of the strongest women I’ve ever met. Helping women get the birth that they want is
such a blessing.”
