During her first pregnancy, 8 years ago, Dawn fell in love with the phenomenal care she received from her Midwives. It was during that time that she realized she wanted to become a midwife.
Dawn soon started nursing school and graduated in 2010. She worked in a medical-surgical unit in Baltimore after nursing school, but eventually moved back to Delaware and worked with disabled children.
Dawn gave birth to her second daughter at The Birth Center in 2012. Dawn says “It was an experience that further cemented my desire to work in women’s health and become a midwife. I absolutely love working here. It is amazing meeting so many different women and I feel so privileged to be present during and after their birth.”
In 2012 Dawn began working as a doula and Placenta Encapsulation Specialist, and in 2013 Dawn was offered a nursing position at The Birth Center. Currently Dawn is a Midwifery student at Frontier NursingContact
