Corinne Daut RN, BSN, IBCLC
Director of Lactation Services
Corinne grew up in Delaware and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee. She worked as a nurse in pediatrics before pursuing a career in lactation after her own personal experiences with breastfeeding. She found breastfeeding her first baby to be difficult and realized there was a lot to learn! So, during her second pregnancy, she read every book about breastfeeding she could find. She welcomed her second and third babies at The Birth Center and had amazing (yet challenging at times!) breastfeeding experiences. After this, Corinne decided to become a lactation consultant so she could help other breastfeeding families.
She has worked with over one thousand breastfeeding families since she joined The Birth Center in April 2017 and became the Director of Lactation in 2020.
When she’s not working with new parents and babies, you can find her listening to true crime podcasts, visiting a local winery, or at home with her husband and their blended family of four kids.
Gwynne Borsello, RN, BSN, IBCLC
After having her first child and struggling with her own breastfeeding journey, she discovered the field of lactation consulting. She knew she wanted to help and empower other moms during their breastfeeding journeys. She found her way to The Birth Center in April 2017 to begin her training to become an IBCLC. Since then, she has worked with hundreds of breastfeeding families!
When Gwynne is not helping nursing moms and babies, you can find her spending time with her family at home on their small chicken farm, and at the beach.
Katie Taylor, RN, MSN, IBCLC
Katherine (Katie) Taylor grew up in Townsend, Delaware and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Delaware in 2011 and Master of Science in Nursing Education from Wilmington University in 2016. She began her nursing career in the NICU at Christiana Care and found her passion for working with parents and babies. She felt so blessed to be able to care for those tiny human beings, helping them grow and transition to the outside world. After several years of working the night shift in the NICU, Katie took a position as a general pediatric nurse at Nemours DuPont Pediatrics in Middletown, DE, caring for kids from birth through 21 years of age. As both a NICU and general pediatric nurse, helping breastfeeding parents was always at the forefront. She worked closely with all members of the healthcare team to ensure that the families’ feeding and other healthcare goals were being met. This unique experience combined with her own personal experience of breastfeeding her two children led her to pursue a career focused on infant feeding. Her goal is to prevent many breastfeeding difficulties from ever occurring through education, and to guide parents through any challenges that do arise so they can experience the amazing benefits that breastfeeding truly does have to offer!
Katie joined the lactation team at The Birth Center in the Fall of 2022.
When Katie is not at work, you will most likely find her spending time with family, gardening, enjoying the outdoors, staying active/exercising, going to the beach, fishing, and crabbing.
