Softening Into Birth
A Somatic Couples Workshop for Pelvic Floor Release and Nervous System Safety
Most modern women are incredibly good at holding it all together.
Managing. Performing. Bracing.
And often that bracing lives in the pelvic floor too.
But labor asks for something different.
Not tightening.
Not controlling.
Not pushing through.
Labor asks a woman to soften into intensity.
To open.
To surrender.
To feel safe enough to let go.
To open.
To surrender.
To feel safe enough to let go.
Softening Into Birth is a 60 minute experiential workshop for couples who want to prepare for birth in a deeply embodied way.
In this class you will learn• How the nervous system directly affects the pelvic floor and cervical opening
• Why jaw tension and breath holding can slow labor
• Practical breath techniques that encourage softening instead of bracing
• How partners can use touch and presence as powerful co regulation tools
• How to recognize the difference between tension and surrender under your handsPartners will practice placing their hands on the sacrum, hips, and low back to actually feel how breath can either constrict or soften the muscles. You will learn how to support intensity without trying to fix it and how to become a steady grounding presence when it matters most.Because when a woman feels safe, her body opens. This workshop is ideal for couples planning a physiologic, unmedicated, or low intervention birth, but the tools are powerful for any birth setting. You will leave with• Somatic breath tools to practice together at home
• Confidence in your partner’s role during labor
• A deeper understanding of pelvic floor release
• A felt sense of what it means to soften on purposeThis is not about performing birth well.
It is about preparing your nervous system for surrender.Hosted by Kellie Lynch, nurse, birth doula, and herbalistThe Nourished Mother
