Mommy and Me Infant Massage

Early psychological and sensory input is essential in facilitating the development of all infants. Infant massage is a beautiful and loving way to provide that input and foster positive interaction. This class will provide caregivers a set of proven techniques and methods for systematically massaging infants. Techniques will include movements such as rubbing, kneading, pressing, and rolling for therapeutic purposes. Therapeutic benefits include improved circulation, relaxation of muscles, relief of pain, restoration of metabolic balance, and most importantly, spending quality one-on-one time with baby. Essential oils can also have many benefits when used in conjunction with infant massage when used safely. A small amount of education on essential oil use will be incorporated into each class; however their use will be completely optional. This 4 week long series, taught by a Certified Infant Massage Instructor, is designed for infants 4 weeks up to pre-crawling and their parents, grandparents, and primary caregivers. Each of the infant massage classes in the series will last approximately 60 minutes.

Using a mix of guided reflection, awareness-building, and practical strategies, participants in this workshop will:

  • Gain a fresh and inspired perspective on what healthy priorities look like.
  • Explore, in a safe and supportive community of women, the impact of exquisite self-care not only on yourself, but also on all those people and causes to which you are committed.
  • Identify personal well-being needs that are not currently fulfilled.
  • Translate intention into strategic action to step up personal self-care in a way that is gentle and sustainable.
