The Birth Center Doulas

TBC Doula Program!

The Birth Center strives to empower and support women throughout their pregnancy, labor, birth, and during the postpartum period. We believe women have the right to seek care that is medically safe, that fits their lifestyle, and that recognizes and respects their individual, physical, spiritual, psychological, and economic needs. Sometimes this means a Birth Center birth, sometimes this means a hospital birth, or maybe that means a home birth.

Through the doula program, our goal is to provide support to all women, those planning a Birth Center birth, those hoping to deliver at The Birth Center but transferred to the hospital during labor, those planning a hospital delivery, and those planning a home birth.

Our paid doula program will consist of call shifts for doulas. Each doula will do a minimum of one 24 hour call shift per month. There will be one required morning workshop for all Birth Center doulas to review the center’s policies and procedures following training and certification. Quarterly meet and greets are also required.
