February is a month filled with love and renewed kindness. When people hear the word “February,” they think of Valentine’s Day. Love for significant others, children, family, and friends is celebrated. This Valentine’s Day, you should celebrate yourself. Whether you are a grandmother, mother, sister, daughter, or friend, let’s celebrate yourself. Women work hard every day to care for our families and friends, but we forget ourselves. This year, we are going to turn Valentine’s Day into a relaxing self-care day.
Self-care day is about what you want, not what someone else tells you to do. I’m offering suggestions for what it might look like, but everyone is different. Write down a few things you have been wanting to try—they can be your self-care day. Think about relaxation and the relief you feel when choosing these activities.
Here is a list of some fun but relaxing things you can do:
- Go to a concert or a show.
- Grab a drink or food from a restaurant you have been wanting to try.
- Take a wine or brewery tour adventure.
- Read your favorite book.
- Drink tea or coffee while watching a sunrise.
- Stretch and work out.
- Take a long bath filled with Epsom salts, bath bombs, or oils.
- Put on makeup or do a full face care routine.
- Take a shower with real eucalyptus leaves and breathe in the fresh aromas.
- Take a painting or pottery class.
- Get a pedicure and/or manicure
- Go to a blow out dry bar
These are just a few ideas for your self-care day. The day is about you and what you want. Don’t let fear of trying something new hold you back; you are confident and capable of doing anything you want.
You deserve this day to be yourself, to feel relaxed, and, most importantly, to love yourself.
