Motherhood is HARD. It can be exhausting, demanding, and emotionally draining. But, it also brings pure happiness, love, and overwhelming joy. Sometimes life gets busy and we forget to take a step back and take it all in, the good and the bad.

This post grew from this recent post I put on Instagram with the comment:

“Some days you won’t go down for a nap. But that’s okay because I won’t always be able to wear you on my back. #enjoythemoments”

The more I realize how quickly time passes, the more I want to make sure I enjoy all the moments I can. My little won’t always be so little.

Recently, I try to ask myself the following question. Is this something I’m going to miss? Staying at home with my son is such a gift, but also exhausting. Nap time is precious. I usually only get about 25 minutes, but that 25 minutes is sanity. On a day when he won’t go down for a nap, it is easy to become frustrated. I even think I was frustrated at first. Then I thought of how much I love that little sweaty sleeping baby on my back, and it brought me back.

So next time you are stressed or frustrated, maybe because baby won’t go to sleep, won’t eat his lunch because he wants to play, or wants to be held while you are trying get things done, take a second to ask yourself… is this something I’m going to miss? Maybe you won’t miss the long to do list not getting done, but you’ll probably miss holding that sweet babe in your arms. So take it all in and enjoy it. 🙂
